Idea 2: Description

News Games 1.0
(“Play the News”/”For those who follow the news”)

Setting the stage:

1. When it comes to daily consumption of news and engagement with news like products, podcasts, twitter and newsletters get highest traction.

2. These are very surface level and are in the what-you-see-is-what-you-get space.

3. Products like the NYTimes Crossword, The Daily Podcast, Quiz Time, etc. get a loyal following because of their freshness and their user interaction.

Keeping in the above mind,

1. Much like Google’s Doodle which changes everyday, I propose the creation of a game which is mobile first that will be based on the day’s top story.

2. The product (to be called – News Games for now) will sit on a homepage/tab of a platform to be interacted with while browsing. For example, The Stories tab on Instagram, The weather tab on Google News, etc. It is simple to launch and simple to quit.

Features

1. It will be intuitive and can be played cross platform.

2. It can be monetized/advertised on.

Resources Required

1. Illustrator
2. Game Dev
3. Producer to bring to all together

An example of a gameplay could be:

Help Trump fire as many people from his cabinet and team in one minute.

Stop Facebook from dropping the ball (of privacy).
