A study of users time spent on gaming, browsing YouTube versus reading or watching the news indicates how little time people spend on publishers websites or on platforms with the objective of the seeking out news.

Enter News Games, which packages news in a highly engaging fashion. It brings the best of late night tv, addictive gaming and the day’s top story. The best part of the experience is that it delivers the fantasy that one can control/influence the days top story. It does this, however, in a package which is familiar to the users.

Another positive that News Games has going for it is that it has no competition. I mean, obviously, its competing with everything on the internet to keep its users’ attention, but there are no other games with the same objective.

The micro-site, still in its nascent stage has to figure out how it can monetize and take advantage of all the traffic.

Another challenge that the site will have figure out is how to keep the games fresh and the users coming back for more.
